Sherri Lee Tierney (Ellis)
Just weeks after graduation, my family and I moved to Kansas. I enrolled in a community college and began taking classes towards a degree in elementary education. Life continued on, uneventful, until 1994. I went to AZ to visit and attend a friend’s wedding (Brandy Burnett "Wheat"). There, I was reacquainted with Sean Tierney (AJHS Class of ’93). I returned to KS on October 1st and Sean showed up at my house on October 30th. We lived together between then and May 9th of 1998 when we were married. In 1996, Sean and I bought our first home together. In 2000, we sold it and bought our second home, and our biggest project together as of yet. The house is under a constant state of remodel. Right now we are living without walls, ceiling, floor, or cabinets in our kitchen... and no sink! As for family... we have a large "four-legged" family consisting of 3 cats and 2 dogs. We also have an aquarium full of fish. Sean has a son from a high school relationship. His name is Cory and he is 9½ years old now! He spends the summers with us and we thoroughly enjoy our time with him. On June 17th of this year, we had our first child together. Our son, Tyler Anthony, was born at only 20 weeks gestation and was stillborn. We are still searching for answers as to why we lost our precious son. We have decided to try for another child though because we have so much love to share and our baby isn’t here to share it with. Sean works as a press operator at a printing factory. I am a domestic engineer (housewife *smile*) and have been since October of last year. Over the years, I bounced around in school changing my major several times. I have finally decided to major in accounting with a minor in business administration. I have plans to go back to school soon. The grief surrounding the death of our son made me decide not to go back this semester as planned. I would say that the major accomplishments in my life have been to have a successful marriage with someone who I consider my best friend, keeping in touch with so many of my close friends from high school, and becoming a mother. Though my son is not with us, he changed our lives in so many ways. He has made me a better person and showed me how fragile life can be and thus what a miracle each living thing is. I will never take for granted the small things again. :: UPDATE :: On June 24th, 2002 at 4:59 pm, our daughter, Caitrin Alyssa, joined our family. It was a difficult pregnancy with a difficult ending (c-section) but both mommy and baby are doing wonderfully. Caity is the light of our lives and after losing her brother just a year and a week before she was born we truly feel blessed to have her in our lives. I have two websites that are, and have been for a while, under construction. The first is our family site at http://www.geocities.com/thetierneyfamily and the second is the memorial site for our son at http://www.geocities.com/my_june_angel. Sean and I still live in Southeast Kansas. Our address, for anyone interested is: Tierney 2501 Stevens Avenue Parsons, Kansas 67357
